This project sought to explore water education as the means to empower, educate and to develop teaching/learning materials, advocacy materials by youth and young water groups such as ASPnet schools and UNESCO Clubs to promote responsible use of water in schools and beyond.
The project also aimed at:
- Strengthening the capacity of science teachers on the local appropriate technologies involved in the management, utilization and conservation of quality water;
- Equipping ASPnet schools and UNESCO clubs with adequate knowledge and skills to form youth and young water groups for advocacy and campaign;
- Creating awareness at community level on the use and management of quality water, giving much emphases to girls; and
- Creating an environment that will allow them to develop and manage small projects such as water harvesting, treatment and conservation.
